about_me

I’ve lived in Los Angeles all my life and it’s where I currently work full time as a graphic artist. I got my start designing printed and woven labels and hangtags for clothing companies at California Label Products. After a few years I decided to take that experience to Hybrid Apparel, to be able to work on graphics that actually went on those clothes. When I’m not too busy with that, I share my time working on a number of freelance projects from logo developments to creating various print collateral for Local Design in which I started in 2005. I’ve always loved art – looking at it and wanting to make it. And it was the Postmodern designers, Neville Brody and David Carson that made me take a look at graphic design and what that field could actually do. So I went to school and graduated with a degree in Studio Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design from Loyola Marymount University in LA and now make a living utilizing the skills I’ve learned and continue to learn everyday. My basic philosophy is pretty well…basic, to enjoy what I do and do what I enjoy. That includes designing, drawing, painting, building, taking photos, listening to music, drinking coffee-lots of coffee, and every once in awhile getting some sleep. I think David Carson said it best, “if you allow who you are as a person to enter the work, two things happen; one, you’re going to enjoy the work a lot more, and two, you’ll be doing your best work.”
